The Alano Club of Portland's mission is to provide a vibrant, inclusive and trauma-informed recovery support center—open 365 days a year—that offers a diverse array of free and accessible resources, supports and services to anyone in or seeking recovery from substance use and mental health disorders. For more than 75 years, the Alano Club of Portland has stood proudly as a beacon of healing, hope and solutions for Oregon's recovery community.
Bottom Line for Portland
Through innovative programming and community-based partnerships with organizations like Ben's Friends, Brown Hope, Reimagining Recovery, Wellbriety and many others, the Alano Club offers free, trauma-informed programming and mutual aid support to anyone in or seeking recovery from substance use and mental health disorders, serving more than 10,000 people monthly. With addiction rates, overdoses and mental health emergencies sharply on the rise during the pandemic, the need for centers like ours has never been greater.
“My recovery started at the Alano Club, and I joined the board of directors because the Alano Club does innovative, inspiring work in the communities I feel deeply connected to. Being a board member has allowed me to feel even more connected to the sober community in Portland, and to continue to use my platform to help others find that same connection in their own recovery.” —Gregory Gourdet, Alano Club of Portland Board of Directors
