The mission of Baby Blues Connection is to support parents and their families coping with pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, with information, resources, and community, and to connect and support the volunteers, staff and professionals who serve them. Our goal is to support all families through the early years of new parenting.
Bottom Line for Portland
Since the first reports of COVID-19, the incidence of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders has risen. Parents are isolated, anxious and afraid. As the only organization of its kind in the Portland metro area, Baby Blues Connection provides a vital, lifesaving service. In response to the pandemic, we’ve pivoted to online groups and adopted a team-based communicative approach to daily support, so multiple volunteers are ready to help a parent in need, every single day.

“When I found BBC, I was in a dark place, with no insurance and I wanted to give up. Going to group saved my life. I learned thoughts are nothing to be ashamed about and that sharing could help others.” —Lisa Kay Peterson
