Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metropolitan Area’s mission is to empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to discover their full potential as caring, engaged, responsible community members.
Bottom Line for Portland
The systemic inequities experienced in 2020 impact the communities we serve. Our Clubs constantly evolve to continue to meet the shifting needs of the kids and families that depend on us. In 2020 so far, we’ve served over 3,500 youth and families, distributed over 71,000 meals/snacks and over 500 activity supplies, provided over 10,400 hours of in-person education, over 300 virtual activities, over 500 remote counseling touchpoints, and nearly 100 teens with internships and jobs.
PavelComm will match all donations up to $2,500.
On G!G Launch Day and all the Big Give Days, every $25+ donor will be entered into a raffle to win a limited special edition Findlay Hat designed by two of our Club teens and a holiday-scented, hand-poured soy candle from Bridge Nine Candle Co.
“The Clubs provide a safe environment for our youth to build skills and character as tomorrow’s leaders. I am a successful leader today because the Clubs served as a place where I could compete in sports, connect with positive mentors, and experience field trips beyond my neighborhood. It was the launching pad I needed to propel myself beyond childhood barriers that stood between me and life success. My entire career path has been focused on community and youth development because of the impact the Clubs had on my life.” —Terry Johnson, chief executive officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland
