The Bus Project

To make politics accessible and fun for young people through mobilization and voter engagement.

Bottom line for Portland

Since 2016, automatic voter registration—which the Bus Project championed—has successfully registered 350,000 new voters. This included a 7 percent youth-turnout increase over 2012, which is the highest jump in Oregon state history, and a 26 percent increase in communities of color.

“The Bus Project's summer PolitiCorps program was an incredibly memorable and meaningful experience. It combined campaign experience, policy education and leadership development; I learned so much in 10 weeks. I would recommend PolitiCorps to any young person looking to learn about working in politics and activism.”  —Spencer Trumm, Politicorps alumnu
