CASA for Children of Multnomah, Washington, and Columbia Counties

To keep children safe when they have been abused or neglected while under the protection of the court. CASA recruits, trains and supports volunteers to advocate for children in foster care as they navigate a complex legal system.

Bottom Line for Portland

In 2017, 445 volunteer CASAs will advocate for better outcomes on behalf of nearly 1,100 children in foster care. On average, children with CASAs spend less time in foster care and experience fewer foster placements. The value of these volunteer hours is nearly $2.4 million.

"Your determined advocacy for these children ensures dignity for them, their parents and all of us. Your efforts motivate all of us to reach for the high standard you have set."  —Judge James L. Fun describing the work of CASA Grant McGuire (Grant sadly passed away in 2016).
