Cascade AIDS Project (CAP)

To support and empower all people with or affected by HIV, reduce stigma and provide the LGBTQ+ community with compassionate health care.

Bottom line for Portland

CAP provides support services for thousands of local individuals who are HIV-positive, as well as HIV/STI testing and prevention education and LGBTQ+ primary health care. Last year, CAP helped more than 30,000 people throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

“Having HIV, you feel isolated, alone. Even some family members don’t understand what it is like to go through the health challenges you do. Our whole life revolves around CAP because it is our home; it is our family.” —M. Doe, client
