As Oregon’s largest provider of individualized support for adults and youth experiencing disabilities, CVI offers a network of services to assist them in living and working independently.
Bottom Line for Portland
In 2016, Community Vision supported 78 individuals with in-home care and provided support for 22 Portland homeowners and renters. CVI also provided transition-aged training for 112 young adults and their families, disbursed $72,000 in matching IDA savings funds and created 14 new jobs for individuals with disabilities.
“Having [CVI] staff allows me to talk to people, get out of bed in the morning, and go out in the community. Community Vision advocates for me and gives me opportunities to advocate, like writing ‘Laddie’s Corner’ for the newsletter.”
—Laddie Read, Community Vision beneficiary for 10 years and writer of “Laddie’s Corner” for CVI’s monthly newsletter.
G!G donors of $10+ to CVI will receive a Nossa Familia Coffee drink token for a free coffee; donors of $50+ will receive a 12-ounce bag of Nossa Familia Coffee’s signature blend, Full Cycle. Donors of $100+ will receive a bottle of pinot noir from Montinore Estate.
