To protect the Pacific Northwest’s wild places, clean water, livable communities and climate by providing access to justice for local communities, Native peoples and conservation groups through high-quality legal services at low or no cost.
Bottom Line for Portland
In the past year, Crag provided nearly 10,000 hours in free or low-cost legal services to dozens of local conservation organizations and native tribes. Crag halted three fossil fuel export proposals, advocated for citywide protections against toxic air pollution, and assisted with the passage of a ballot measure that blocks Nestlé’s plan to bottle millions of gallons of the public’s water in the Columbia Gorge, among other projects.
“Crag does not shy away from the tough cases, the ones that will protect my children’s future and provide lasting protection for places we love and cherish. They bring their incredible talents, passion and commitment to work for us every day.” —Julia Olson, executive director, Our Children’s Trust
