To help area low-income women get work, succeed in work and become economically self-sustaining by providing them with professional clothing, employment readiness and retention services and woman-to-woman support.
Bottom Line for Portland
Last year, DFSO helped 635 women get jobs; 64 percent of those women are single mothers. Together, they are now contributing more than $16.3 million to the local economy. Ninety-seven percent of the women in DFSO job retention programs have kept their jobs.
