Farmers Market Fund

To provide low-income, elderly and underserved populations with greater access to healthy, locally grown foods while supporting small family farms and boosting the local economy.

Bottom Line for Portland

Last year, through 20 area farmers markets, FMF sent $280,000 worth of fresh food home with low-income Portland families. Eighty-nine percent of clients said they are buying more fruits and vegetables, and 69 percent are eating less processed food.

“Farmers Market Fund has allowed me to be able to go to farmers markets, eat way healthier, buy locally and get to know others in my community. I am forever grateful.” —Whitnee, Montavilla Farmers Market shopper
