Mission

To empower youth and adults to take control of their financial futures. Financial Beginnings provides educational programs that incorporate all aspects of personal finance to give individuals the foundation they need to make informed financial decisions.

Bottom Line for Portland

Last year, FB provided financial education to more than 20,000 individuals. It interviews high school seniors six months after participating in its program. Of these, 51 percent increased their credit score, 67 percent increased their savings, 80 percent have taken steps to reduce commercial debt, and 94 percent reported what they learned to be useful for employment.
