To recycle technology and provide access to computers, the internet, education and job skills in exchange for community service.
Bottom Line for Portland
Last year, Free Geek ensured responsible recycling for more than 1 million pounds of e-waste, refurbished more than 4,500 computers for the community, and placed more than 3,000 pieces of technology into the hands of other community-change organizations.
“Free Geek has empowered me on so many levels. They have not just taught me how to build computers, but how to build community. They are also masters at teaching recycling, repair and reuse.” —Jacqueline Whitt, volunteer
CenturyLink will match the first $5,000 and the Olseth Family Foundation will match the first $10,000 in G!G donations to Free Geek.
