Friends of Family Farmers (FoFF) is the voice for Oregon family farmers who responsibly steward their land and feed our communities. FoFF advocates for a more equitable, ecological, and socially-just system of agriculture in Oregon, and also provides opportunities for local farmers to connect with eaters. FoFF works to ensure our decision makers and all Oregonians understand the web of connections between agriculture, climate change, environmental justice, and what farmers and communities can do to address the interconnected crises upon us.
Bottom Line for Portland
Not everyone is a farmer, but we’re all eaters! And eaters have the ability to make choices that can regenerate our food system—from voting with food dollars to contacting policymakers. In addition to supporting farmers directly, FoFF educates eaters through our InFARMations and other events, about where our food comes from, how it’s produced, and how we can work together toward a more resilient, inclusive local food system that centers thriving small farms and ranches.
We have gift baskets for three random donors at the $100 and above level. Each basket includes $50 gift certificates to ¿Por Qué No? Taqueria, Coastal, Linnton Feed and Seed, Dove Vivi Pizza, plus two bottles of Hot Winter Hot Sauce, a Friends of Family Farmers hat, and two pint glasses.
“To me the most valuable part of FoFF’s work is the public education component, like the InFARMations, which help the public get a better idea of what farms are doing and the importance of a healthy, local food system.” —Willa Bauman, FoFF member
