BIPOC-Led Organization!
Friends of Noise

Our organization seeks to foster healing and growth for youth in our community via the arts by hosting professional development workshops, inclusive all-ages concerts that provide live performance opportunities for youth artists, and hands-on experience for emerging youth sound engineers.

Bottom Line for Portland

2020 has been a challenging year for Friends of Noise and the youth we serve. To adapt to the pandemic and the calls for social justice, we dedicated our gear and resources to amplifying the voices of youth across our region. From outdoor concerts to protests, we made sure that our youth were heard loud and clear. Our long-term goal is a home/venue of our own where youth can share their songs and stories with their peers.

“Friends of Noise sees potential in all kinds of youth artists around Portland and Gresham. They put on shows, they host merch workshops, and they do fundraisers for good causes. And they all do it because they care. And if they didn’t care, they just wouldn’t do it. So yeah, Friends of Noise changed my life. Thanks for believing in me.” —M. Bell, Plastic Brains
