Friends of Trees inspires people to improve the natural world around them through a simple solution: Planting trees. Together.
Bottom Line for Portland
Last season, 6,800 Friends of Trees volunteers donated 30,000 hours at more than 100 different events in 20 cities across six counties. Together, we planted 51,289 trees and native shrubs in neighborhoods and natural areas. More than 850,000 trees have been planted since 1989!
A longtime Friends of Trees volunteer is generously matching the first $5,000 in G!G donations.
"We need to do something bigger than ourselves. These trees we plant are going to outlast me, outlast my kids, the benefit is just gigantic. People are going to enjoy the beauty, birds are going to have their nests in there … it keeps on giving, that's why I fell in love with this. Friends of Trees is really important in our community." - Farah & Mohamed, Friends of Trees volunteers
