“I Have a Dream” Oregon

To support and empower students from poverty-impacted communities to thrive in school, college and career.

Bottom Line for Portland

In 2016, more than 300 Dreamer students received mentoring, resulting in 92 percent of sophomore students being on track to graduate. With the rollout of the family-focused Books & Breakfast program, 162 families received housing assistance, and parent engagement increased 200 percent.

’I Have a Dream’ is more than just an organization. They’ve become family. Throughout all these years they have supported me not only through my academics, but through life struggles as well. Because of them, I have become a strong, independent leader on my way to college.” —Vanessa, high school senior
