To engage readers, support writers, and inspire the next generation with great literature. With a 33-year history of building community around literature, Literary Arts offers diverse programming that serves Oregon’s readers and writers of all ages and across all demographics.

Literary Arts provides engaging literary experiences for more than 20,000 Oregonians annually, and provides $42,500 in grants and awards for local writers.

How far does a $10 donation go with your organization?

$10 fully funds one student’s attendance at Wordstock, Portland’s book festival. Last year, more than 700 youth received free admittance.

How far does a $50 donation go with your organization?

$50 provides a book and a ticket for a student to attend an author event at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Last year, more than 1,000 high school students attended these events for free.
