Powered by the belief that a better world is possible, downtown’s Action Center brings Mercy Corps’ international work to life through interactive experiences. Mercy Corps Northwest trains and finances local businesses, supports formerly incarcerated individuals as they rebuild their lives in Portland, and prepares incarcerated women for successful re-entry.
Bottom Line for Portland
Each year, Mercy Corps’ work impacts more than 15,000 people in the Pacific Northwest. Last year, Mercy Corps taught more than 5,000 students, started 115 local businesses, and grew 6,000 pounds of organic produce in Oregon’s women’s prison.
“It’s not an easy journey, but the love I received at Mercy Corps Northwest time and time again
became my foundation for hope.” —Bobby, Reentry Transition Center participant
