For almost 70 years, we’ve helped people in our community move beyond the limitations of poverty, inequity, and social isolation through 24 culturally responsive programs in youth success, economic empowerment, and health & wellness.
Bottom Line for Portland
Last year, MFS helped 18,500 people from our most vulnerable populations by distributing 1 million pounds of food to hungry families, providing after-school programs to 8,500 kids at 20 schools, and giving more than 35,000 rides to older adults and people with disabilities in need of transportation.
“For people like us who may not be able to rely on their family, when you break it down, who is really there in a person’s life? And it’s always you, MFS. When things in life get crunchy, MFS always steps in and puts themselves around you, and helps you out. You are always there, and we are just so grateful.”
