Neighborhood House’s mission is to bring neighbors together to prevent hunger and homelessness and educate community members of all ages. We strengthen community by providing resources to support self-reliance, economic independence, and dignity for people of all backgrounds.
Bottom Line for Portland
In early 2020, Neighborhood House pivoted its wrap-around social services to meet the need of those impacted most by COVID-19. Our Food Pantry, the largest on Portland's west side, delivered hundreds of thousands of pounds of nutritious food to peoples' homes, while our early childhood education and youth programs continued to provided online learning and resources to families. Though the Neighborhood House Senior Center closed mid-March, we have continued to provide wellness checks, grocery delivery, and online classes for aging Portlanders. No matter what comes next, Neighborhood House is poised to respond.
