Neighborhood House

To bring neighbors together to prevent hunger and homelessness. Neighborhood House strengthens the community by providing the resources to support self-reliance, economic independence and dignity in people of all ages and backgrounds.

Bottom Line for Portland

Last year, Neighborhood House served more than 12,000 people in the Portland area, including 748 young children in three early childhood education programs. Ninety percent of the children in its Head Start pre-kindergarten program met or exceeded school-readiness goals in five out of six learning categories.

“My kids can’t wait to go to school every day. Great healthy meals, great learning environment; we love Neighborhood House Head Start.” —Head Start parent
