P:ear builds positive relationships with homeless youth through education, art, recreation and job training to affirm personal worth and create more meaningful and healthier lives.
Bottom Line for Portland
P:ear serves 600 homeless youth per year as they navigate the personal and difficult journey out of street life. Without a loving and supportive community, homeless youth face great adversity: from mental and physical challenges to systemic inequality, familial violence, sexual abuse, and lifelong struggles with poverty, drug addiction and incarceration. P:ear guides youth to recognize themselves as capable people while providing opportunities for growth and building strong relationships rooted in trust. Together, we are creating a healthier community for all.
