Portland Street Art Alliance advances street art culture by empowering artists to activate the spaces where we live, work and play.
Bottom Line for Portland
Founded in 2012, PSAA works to provide access to resources, networking platforms, and professional development opportunities for regional artists. PSAA has managed over 120 private and publicly funded street art projects, facilitating commissioned work resulting in over $350,000 paid to working artists. PSAA is actively transforming the public art landscape by developing more inclusive place-based programs that aim to increase access to art for everyone in the city. In 2020, PSAA continued to provide critical community services, with special emphasis on supporting emerging and BIPOC artists, social justice initiatives, and providing assistance for struggling boarded-up businesses.

“As a young Black artist working in Portland, being taken seriously has not always been easy. I had painted a few murals before PSAA’s Viaduct Arts Project, but none on the scale of the piece they trusted me to complete. PSAA helped me through the entire process, from planning to purchasing paint, to learning how to use a boom lift. Now, not only do I have more legitimate mural experience, but I have the confidence and the knowledge I need to work on larger-scale projects.” —Nia Musiba
