Working toward our vision that all children have the right to read and succeed, Reading Results serves first, second and third graders who need extra reading support. We use a racial equity and inclusion lens to support reading success for local students who are most likely to experience the opportunity gap associated with race and poverty. Students work with a carefully matched and dedicated tutor throughout the school year.
Bottom Line for Portland
Students who spend a year in our program, regardless of race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender or home language, make more than a year and a half of reading growth—increasing both their skills and confidence in their own learning! Being able to read by the end of the third grade is a key indicator of a student’s likelihood to graduate from high school—and you can be a part of preparing students for their futures. We meet students where they are, serving online while students learn from home and in the classroom when students are at school. Our students need us now more than ever!
All donations made through Give!Guide will be matched by a local anonymous family foundation, doubling the value of your gift. And some lucky donors will receive gift certificates from Montelupo Italian Market and 24th & Meatballs! Plus, A Children’s Place Bookstore will offer a surprise incentive during our campaign!
“The partnership with Reading Results has been amazing for our students. The confidence they experience as they become readers and the joy they experience when they can unlock text and all the world the books provide is really powerful.” —Dana Nerenberg, principal, Sitton Elementary
