To bring Oregonians together to improve the environment and build a legacy of stewardship. SOLVE believes we can and must take responsibility for this beautiful place we call home.

Bottom Line for Portland

SOLVE wants to improve the livability of our city. In 2016, SOLVE supported 606 volunteer projects throughout the Portland metro area. SOLVE events engaged 18,251 volunteers who removed 195,000 pounds of trash and planted 20,272 native trees and shrubs.

“Being from Oregon, the environment has always been important to me. SOLVE not only readily supports and engages its volunteers, but it helps Oregonians, and it has helped me realize that anybody can make a positive change in their community.” —Emily Baker, senior at Portland State University and SOLVE volunteer
