KBOO is an independent, member-supported, noncommercial, volunteer-powered community radio station. KBOO embodies equitable social change, shares knowledge, and fosters creativity by delivering locally rooted and diverse music, culture, news and opinions, with a commitment to the voices of oppressed and underserved communities.
Bottom Line for Portland
KBOO keeps Portland connected, amplifying voices and actions in the community. In 2018, KBOO trained 800 volunteers, providing hundreds of hours of training and mentoring each months to people of all ages, incomes and physical abilities, with an emphasis on voices from underserved communities. KBOO worked on a variety of collaborative projects and promoted 241 community events.
