Transition Projects

Mission

To assist people in transitioning from homelessness to housing. Transition Projects delivers life-saving and life-changing support to some of Portland’s most vulnerable residents.

Bottom Line for Portland

On any given day, nearly 700 people visit Transition Projects’ Day Center to access essential services; on any given night, more than 600 women, men and couples with nowhere else to turn sleep in one of Transition Projects’ six shelters. Each year, with Transition Projects’ support, more than 850 people end their homelessness and move into safe, permanent housing.

“I was a guest at Transition Projects’ Clark Center, a men’s residential shelter, and my time there was truly a life-saving experience. I can’t begin to express my gratitude for the future that’s been afforded me and the life-transforming service of your staff and agency. I can’t begin to repay the debt I owe your agency in restoring my life, now with the goal of a career in health care, a planned retirement and a long future. Thank you!” —mark s.
