Baby Blues Connection

Mission
Our mission is to support parents and their families coping with pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, with information, resources, and community, and to connect and support the volunteers, staff and professionals who serve them.
Bottom Line for Portland
Baby Blues Connection is the only organization of its kind in the metro area. We provide a vital link between diagnosis and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through our free peer-to-peer support and resources. We work tirelessly to normalize the struggles of those coping with conditions that arise out of welcoming a child into their lives. Our program operates on a tiny budget and is funded by contributions from people whose lives have been touched by postpartum depression and anxiety.
Quote
"“Baby Blues helped connect me to a community of other postpartum parents and reminded me I wasn’t alone. They showed me that I can come out the other side and still enjoy those precious moments with my newborn." - Adrienne C.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Postpartum depression and perinatal mood disorders can affect anyone and rates of occurrence increase for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ folks. And so Baby Blues Connection operates under a strict pledge to incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion strategies into our organization. Our strategies are both public facing and focused on the internal work of questioning our own unconscious biases, both individually and as an organization. We continuously strive toward equity in all aspects of our work, in everything from our day-to-day operations to the titles we choose to explore in our monthly book group.
