Blanchet House & Farm
Mission
Blanchet House & Farm supports people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity by offering free hot meals, clothing, toiletries, transitional housing, recovery, and community.
Bottom Line for Portland
Blanchet House & Farm provides life-saving aid to our neighbors living on the margins and provides pathways out of homelessness and hunger. More than 200 people a year find support to secure permanent housing, sobriety, and employment after participating in our transitional housing programs at Blanchet House in Old Town and our rural recovery program in Carlton, Blanchet Farm. Thousands more find warmth, nourishment, and community through our free meal program and accompanying clothing and essentials closets. Treating people with dignity and compassion is central to our work.
Quote
“I was at the lowest point in my life when I walked through the doors. Blanchet offered me a lifeline and a chance to rebuild my life. The community at Blanchet has become my family, we share meals, stories, and support. It makes me feel like I belong, like I’m not alone in this journey." --John, program participant
