Mission

Blanchet House & Farm supports people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity by offering free hot meals, clothing, toiletries, transitional housing, recovery, and community.

Blanchet House offers life-saving aid to people living on the margins and creates pathways out of homelessness and hunger.
Each year, more than 200 individuals gain the support they need to secure stable housing, sobriety, and employment through our transitional housing program in Old Town and our rural recovery program, Blanchet Farm, in Carlton. Thousands more find warmth, nourishment, and community through our free café meals and our clothing and essentials closets. Treating every person with dignity and compassion is at the heart of all we do.

12/02 - Power Hour: For Giving Tuesday, we have another Blanchet Farm exclusive - every hour from 7am - 4pm PDT, the first donor who gives $100+ will receive a handmade Wooden Pepper Grinder, made with Oregon Black Walnut, crafted by our residents at Blanchet Farm.

12/10 - Get your very own Blanchet House Canvas Bag by donating $25+ today. 

12/17 - Get ready for some holiday baking with a special Handmade Wooden Rolling Pin and a jar of Apple Pie Filling (details below)! PLUS our friends at The Ground are matching the first $2,500 in donations today!

Drawing details:

The first 100 donations of $100+ made 12:00am-11:59pm on December 17th, 2025 are eligible to win one of three wooden rolling pins, each with a jar of apple-pie filling, all handmade by our residents at Blanchet Farm! 

The drawing will be held at Blanchet House, 310 NW Glisan, Portland, 97209 at 9:00 am on December 18th, 2025, you do not need to be present to win. If you are one of our three lucky winners, our team will contact you immediately. Total retail value of each rolling pin $66. Due to IRS stipulations, your $100 donation is non-tax deductible, more details in emailed receipt. Must be over 21 and located in Oregon at the time of entry. 

12/27 - The first 25 donors who give $25+ today will get an advanced copy of Toby Goes to the Farm children's book, signed by one of the authors.*

Rose Haven: Rose Haven offers community, support and love for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, including many who frequent Blanchet House for services. We look forward to deepening our partnership as Blanchet House prepares to open Bethanie's Room Emergency Women's Shelter, which will serve many of the same individuals.

Oregon Humane Society creates a more humane society statewide by facilitating animal adoption, care, and education, partnering with Blanchet House to provide free vaccinations, consultations, and pet-care resources at our semi-annual Vet Clinic Pop-Ups for our Meal Guests and their furry friends

SMART Reading spreads the joy and magic of reading to young Portlanders, including sharing copies of our children's book Toby Finds a Home to kids and families. 

Community Cycling Center: The Community Cycling Center helps make bicycling more accessible through advocacy and activities to support Portland's favorite two-wheel transportation; they support Blanchet House meal guests and residents by providing bicycle tune-ups and repairs.

Family Promise of Metro East spreads warmth and compassion in our community by offering shelter, essential aid, and care to families with children in need of a helping hand
