Building Blocks 2 Success

BIPOC-Led Organization

Our mission is to get ethnically and gender-diverse underrepresented youth from the Portland Metropolitan area excited about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through exposure and participation in STEM-related programs and activities.

Bottom Line for Portland

If we are not intentionally investing in our BIPOC communities, our youth will continue to fall through the cracks and the achievement gap will continue to grow. Our underserved and underrepresented communities need exposure and access to high-quality STEM resources but it takes the support and commitment from our community.

I had a great experience being a coach/mentor to youth in BB2S’ STEM program. This program has given me a positive release from the stresses of my day job as an engineer” - BB2S Volunteer Staff

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

BB2S celebrates equity, diversity, and inclusiveness. We embrace these pillars as a fabric of who we are as an organization and why we exist and feel that it is crucial to healthy people and healthy communities.
