Cat Adoption Team (CAT)

Mission

Cat Adoption Team’s mission is to save the lives of homeless cats and to work with our community to provide feline expertise and quality programs and services for people and cats.

Bottom Line for Portland

Your donation to CAT gives love, laughter, and companionship to the Portland metro area and beyond! Together, we provide adoption opportunities, foster care, and veterinary services to cats and kittens in need — and every cat is safe in our care until they find the right new home. The CAT Helpline, spay/neuter clinic, and related programs help people keep and care for their cats, even during difficult times. With the support of adopters, staff and volunteers, and donors like YOU, thousands of cats and people find friendship at CAT each year. Let’s keep the love going! 💕

Quote

“Cat Adoption Team [is] extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made the daunting task of finding a furry friend easy and stress free. The programs they run, the cats they save, and the way they run their organization is first rate.” – Nate W., adopter

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

CAT is focused on cats, but we also have a deep respect and appreciation for people. That’s why we are committed to building more diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into our systems, programs, services, and organizational culture. In 2020, CAT established a DEI committee of staff, volunteers, and board members. This committee has created a multi-year framework to drive impactful change at CAT. And we’re hard at work on the framework goals. So far, we have developed a DEI Statement of Principle and made numerous changes to improve DEI in our organization. We know this work is ongoing. Through our dedication and efforts, we hope to make our world a kinder, gentler place for cats and people.

Incentives

Double Dip Match for Young Donors: One of CAT’s donors is on a mission! At 82 years old, this self-proclaimed “old fart” says she still cares about animal welfare and making the world a better place. To inspire the next generation to join the cause, she is going to double every Give!Guide donation to CAT from anyone age 35 and under, up to a total of $5,000! That's right, turn your $10 into $20, $25 to $50... you get the idea.
