College Possible
Mission
College Possible’s mission is to make college admission and success possible for students from low-income backgrounds through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support.
Bottom Line for Portland
College Possible Oregon serves 2,000 students annually on their paths to college graduation, and the results are striking: students enroll in college at a rate of 90% and are nearly twice as likely to graduate compared to their peers from similar backgrounds.
Bachelor’s degree holders have median incomes 65% higher than those of high school graduates, but there are very limited resources available to help Oregon students from low-income backgrounds access higher education. College Possible’s one-on-one coaching helps students exit poverty and start to build generational wealth. Results from an alumni survey show that College Possible graduates are employed, saving for retirement and have even begun saving for their children's college education.
Quote
“The support I received from College Possible was more than academic. … Education became a path to a better life and a tool for advocacy and change. My coaches helped me see that, and it’s a lesson I carry with me as I step into my future, bringing one simple truth: Education is Elevation.”

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We recognize and affirm the importance of doing the hard work of building College Possible into an educational equity organization that, at every level, reflects our shared values of diversity, equity and inclusion. We acknowledge the challenges inherent in orienting and defining our work within a context rife with systemic inequity, injustice and exclusion. But we have an abiding belief in the transformative role that College Possible can play by supporting students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education as they pursue college degrees. We seek to see our students thrive beyond college, thus shaping the very communities that they come from and settle in.
