Our mission is to provide activists, neighbors, conservation groups, and Tribes with strategic, free and low cost legal services to win lasting environmental protections for our ecosystems, climate, and communities.

Bottom Line for Portland

Everyone deserves clean air, safe water, and healthy green spaces. But powerful interests are threatening the protections that make our city livable—fast-tracking fossil fuel projects, weakening environmental laws, and putting profits before people and nature.
 

Crag Law Center stands with Portland communities to defend what matters most. For 24 years, we’ve helped neighbors, Tribes, and grassroots groups use the power of the law to protect Oregon’s air, water, and climate.
 

Right now, we’re standing up for Forest Park—one of Portland’s most beloved wild places. We’re representing community members and environmental groups to stop PGE’s plan to clear nearly five acres of old trees, fill wetlands, and harm streams and wildlife. Although City Council denied the project, PGE has appealed, so our fight continues! Because Portland’s future depends on protecting the places that make it home.
