Don't Shoot PDX

Mission
As a community action plan we strive to promote civic engagement, legal advocacy, educational and art based workshops that empower youth and families of gun violence. Our outreach will always remain free to those in need and includes providing essential resources such as fresh produce, personal protection equipment, clothing, emergency crisis support and more in addition to our educational programming.
Bottom Line for Portland
Portland has yet to reckon with it's history and current landscape of racial and white supremacist violence. The vast disparities that became illuminated to many during Covid-19 are still affecting our communities everyday. We must prioritize sustainable support through a lens of public health in order to advocate for those who are hurt by this lack of care the most.
Quote
We aim to uplift voices and advocate for Black Portlanders and everyone who works to dismantle anti Blackness and systemic discrimination. By supporting grassroots organizing and providing direct services and community education we are developing a long term social change framework which promotes community engaged civic participation. Together, we can. - Teressa Raiford, Don't Shoot Portland Founder/Executive Director
