Mission

Ethos is dedicated to making music education accessible to all youth in Portland and across Oregon. Our culturally responsive programs are designed to create equitable access to inclusive programming for youth of all backgrounds and identities.

Bottom Line for Portland

Money from this fundraiser helps us provide music lessons & in-school music education for students who might not have other access. Music education provides unparalleled academic, social and emotional benefits which so many kids really need right now. By investing in arts education today, we are investing in our community’s future.

Quote

“I love Ethos because it allows students to see the community in music. It helped me to connect to my creativity in a way that I had never experienced before. It’s one of the reasons why I’m so connected to music today”.

-Cada Gerrans (former student)

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Ethos works with students, families, schools and community advocates to identify, and collaboratively remove, a variety of barriers to music education. We partner with other local, BIPOC and woman-led organizations to inform and guide our processes while expanding our outreach. Ethos is proud to provide culturally responsive programming and is working to increase representation so that every student feels welcome, included, safe and valued.
