Mission

Family Promise of Metro East is dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness in NE and SE Portland achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

Bottom Line for Portland

We need more shelter in Portland. Family Promise of Metro East mobilizes churches, volunteers, and community-based organizations to provide shelter, meals, and support for homeless children and their families in NE and SE Portland. We partner this volunteer energy with professional case management to help families get back into stable housing.

Quote

"It didn't matter who I was, what I've been through, or why I was there.  It mattered that I was Krystal and these are my kids and you wanted to be there for me." - Family Promise Graduate

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

It is impossible to separate systemic and structural racism from the reality that people of color are disproportionately affected by homelessness and poverty. We acknowledge this and are committed to providing training and support for our volunteers and staff to address diversity, equity, and inclusion in our work.
