Feed The Mass

BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

Feed The Mass strives to empower, educate and serve through food.

Bottom Line for Portland

Feed the Mass is a 501c3 nonprofit operating in Portland since 2016 with a mission to empower, educate, and serve through food. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to reliable, high-quality nutrition, the organization functions to empower and connect people through sustainable food systems to combat food insecurity for the area’s most vulnerable neighbors. Increasing accessibility, its digital and in-person education classes, and workshops put the power of nutrition and wellness into their own hands.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Equity and inclusion is at the heart of our work and mission at Feed The Mass. We believe that healthy, nutritional food is a right, and that access to healthy food should not be dependent on anyone’s race, religion, sexual orientation, or financial situation. We recognize and confront the systemic and economic barriers that hinder access, equity, and opportunity within our community. We stand for equitable and sustainable solutions to these barriers and seek to provide a just solution through education and access to healthy meals. We welcome individuals from all cultures and backgrounds. We strive to build strong partnerships with those community members most affected by these unjust systems, and provide them with the resources they need. We strive to be inclusive of indigenous ,BIPOC, Latinx, and all other communities within our scope in both our impact and the curation of our work and mission.
