Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon

It's FCCO's mission to improve the welfare and reduce the population of feral and stray cats through spay/neuter programs and education.

Bottom Line for Portland

This year we will spay/neuter 8,000 homeless cats – a record year due to the pandemic greatly increasing the need for our services. FCCO remains the only program in the area providing this level of care for feral and stray cats. In our climate cats can have three litters per year, so each surgery prevents future generations of kittens living on our streets while reducing the burden on the cats, their caregivers, and the environment.

Thank you so much for your help with these cats. I just can't imagine what the population would have been in 6 more weeks! We are very appreciative.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  1. It's a core value of FCCO that our services be affordable and accessible to everyone – and approximately 50% of feral cat caregivers have a household income of less than $25,000. While our services are provided for a suggested donation of $40 per cat, this can still be too much for many people or those who are feeding many cats. We don’t turn anyone away based on how much they can contribute or where they live.
