Friends of Noise
Mission
Friends of Noise is an organization built on the values of collectivism and restorative justice. We seek to transform the culture of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth access to the music industry. We foster a healthy ecosystem for all ages to thrive by meeting young people where they are and by facilitating opportunities for immersion into a safer arts community while uplifting youth voices.
Bottom Line for Portland
Our programs empower youth to contribute to our creative ecosystem long before they are 21. Opening our new all ages venue means more workshops, performance opportunities, and workforce development for more youth. With your help our future home will be a multicultural and multi-generational community space for expression, connection, and personal growth.
Quote
“I really loved my experience performing with Friends of Noise and I hope that they can continue to uplift young artists in Portland! Thank you friends of noise for making me feel seen and allowing me to feel like I can pursue music!!” Mathilda- youth musician
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Diversity of artists, music genres and audience members makes for a safer, more vibrant and more open all ages music scene. When Hip Hop is on the same lineup as Rock, cool things happen. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion means that we strive to make everyone feel welcome and needed in our music scene. We see diversity not as a task to be achieved but as a feature that draws in like-minded people of all ages.
