Greater Than

Mission

To support historically underserved students, families and educational institutions in pursuit of educational equity. We do this by demonstrating and promoting innovative long-term partnerships that center racial equity, parent leadership, and community collaboration.

Bottom Line

Greater Than serves more than 1,100 students and their families from pre-K through college in Rockwood and Downtown Hillsboro, neighborhoods that have been impacted by systemic racism. Last year, 93% of Greater Than High School students graduated on time (up from 88%), and 89% of Greater Than 9th graders were on track (up from 69%). By weaving families, schools and community together, we’re part of a growing community schools movement in Oregon and beyond.

Quote

“Greater Than taught me that I am not defined by barriers of social class, that I can move beyond limitations and expectations placed on me and do something bigger.”

– Brooke Brown, Greater Than Alumnus
