Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization (IRCO)

OCT Qualified
BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

IRCO’s mission is to welcome, serve, and empower refugees, immigrants, and people across cultures and generations to reach their full potential.

Bottom Line for Portland

Founded by refugees nearly 50 years ago, IRCO is the largest immigrant and refugee community-based organization in Portland.

In the last year, we engaged over 29,000 individuals: we house new refugee arrivals, provide essential immigration legal counsel and navigation, offer training and employment services, support survivors of violence and exploitation, assist small businesses, help children become kindergarten ready, engage youth, and more, with over 75 programs in total.

Your donation to this Give!Guide campaign helps fund these critical programs, providing tens of thousands of immigrants and refugees with life-changing services.

Quote

“[IRCO] helped with clothes, moved [us] into a new shelter, paid rent for the first month, and covered the first couple months of expenses, such as food, hygiene items, and other essential items. For everything IRCO has provided, we are very grateful.” - IRCO Client

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our commitment to equity, anti-racism, and social justice: Our immigrant and refugee community in Oregon is the center of our mission, vision, decisions, and actions. We envision a diverse cultural and linguistic community where each person can fully participate, prosper, thrive, and belong. Our work is driven by an equity and trauma informed lens, strong internal values, a learning organization practice, community-centered partnerships, organizing, advocacy, anti-racism, and a social justice ethic and practice. We are dedicated to developing systems and structures of accountability and transparency. We are committed to this journey.
