Janus Youth Programs
Mission
Janus Youth Programs works to address the unique needs of youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability, pregnant or parenting youth, youth in residential care and incarcerated youth. Through innovative, community-based services, Janus provides 4,000 children, youth and families a supportive path to a positive future every year.
Bottom Line for Portland
A donation to Janus is an investment in Portland's youth - youth who are facing homelessness, abuse, domestic violence, parenting with limited resources, incarceration and lack of access to education. When you provide these youth opportunities to build successful futures, our entire community benefits. Your gift to Janus supplies critical first-aid and hygiene supplies for youth on the streets, baby formula and diapers for young parents, case management and housing services for homeless youth, normalizing experiences for youth in our residential treatment programs, classes and workshops for incarcerated youth and educational scholarships.
Quote
“In 1990, I was 14, alone and struggling with debilitating depression, when I ran away from home and entered a Janus residential program where two staff members completely changed my life. Because of their support, I went on to volunteer with AIDS patients in 1995 which inspired me to pursue a career as an RN. Janus is about changing lives and building futures which is exactly what they did for me.”
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
