Our mission is to reduce hunger by providing reliable nutritious food for neighbors in Northwest and Downtown Portland.

Donating to Lift UP ensures access to healthy and nutritious food for our neighbors in Northwest and Downtown Portland. 

Last year we distributed *696,286 lbs of food - a 20% increase over the previous year.

*4,008 Delivered Food Boxes were distributed in low-income housing communities - 39% were dietary specific (i.e. tailored to diets for diabetic, gluten-free, high blood pressure, soft food, low sodium, Kosher, etc.)

*60,140 pounds of food were stocked in our Emergency Food Closets (on-site pantries housed in living communities), a 45% increase over the previous year

Preston's Pantry served *11,970 individuals - 50% were first-time visitors 

*48% of all food distributed was produce

*99% of clients surveyed say their health improved after receiving food from Lift UP

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Lift UP, we believe that social injustice is the root cause of poverty and hunger. 

Hunger disproportionately impacts LGBTQIA+, women, people with disabilities, immigrants, and people of color due to the systemic oppression embedded in institutions and policies.  

Lift UP commits to actively working to advance equity and food justice with the direct input of the people we serve.
