Love Our City provides reliable access to healthy and nutritious food to individuals and families facing food insecurity in our local community.
Bottom Line for Portland
Love Our City provides a weekly food box distribution to support individuals and families facing food insecurity. A team of 50+ volunteers pick up food daily from grocery stores and other partner agencies. This fresh food is then packed into boxes and distributed to over 600 families every month. Each food box contains approximately 3-4 days worth of food, with an estimated value of $150 per box. In total, we distribute 23,000 pounds of food each month to our local community. Our goal this year is to establish a paid, part-time Pantry Manager to improve the sustainability of our services to our community.
