Open Hearts Open Minds
Open Hearts Open Minds' mission is to serve current and former incarcerated Oregonians by cultivating positive change through mentorship, dialogue and the arts.
Bottom Line for Portland
We believe in the value of support, empathy & love and understand that it is the heart of restoration. Every donation received by OHOM helps empower our incarcerated brothers and sisters with artistic and life skills they need to succeed inside and outside of prison walls. This is how we serve Oregon families and communities, with your generous donations and a welcoming home.
"I feel stronger spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally. I refound myself. I found my voice once again." -- incarcerated colleague, 2023
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At OHOM we've dedicated ourselves to human connection, to the individual and collaborative support of not only who we serve but also who we work with. We believe there is value in all cultures and a uniqueness that can only be found by listening to and raising up the voices of all. Now more than ever we understand the importance of this work. OHOM welcomes involvement at the board, contractor, volunteer, or participant levels from people who identify as members of the LGBTQ+, people living with disabilities, and immigrant and refugee communities, as well as other marginalized communities.
All donations up to $10,000 will be matched by the Jerry and Donna Smith Family Foundation.
