Oregon Cultural Trust
What they do
The Oregon Cultural Trust administers the cultural tax credit, which empowers Oregonians to direct more of their state tax money to fund arts and culture. This doesn’t mean paying more in taxes; it means choosing what your taxes fund. When you give to one or more Creative Expression nonprofits in the Give!Guide, you become eligible for the cultural tax credit. At checkout, you’ll see the the Give!Guide totals your donations to Cultural Trust-qualified nonprofits and gives you the opportunity to give this amount to the Trust to support arts and culture. You will get 100 percent of this money back* when you file your state taxes.
* Up to $500 for individuals, $1,000 for couples filing jointly and $2,500 for Class C corporations
Wondering if you should be using the cultural tax credit?
To find out, see if these statements are true for you:
• I would like a greater portion of my tax dollars to support arts and culture in Oregon.
• I gave to at least one “Cultural Trust-qualified nonprofit” in 2021.
• I’m willing to donate to Oregon’s fund for culture via the Give!Guide or the Trust website before Dec. 31, knowing I will get the money back – 100 percent -- as a tax credit when I file my state taxes.
If you answered “yes” to all three statements, giving to the Oregon Cultural Trust via theGive!Guide would be a smart move for you!
