Oregon Justice Resource Center

BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

Our goal is to promote civil rights and improve legal representation for communities that have often been underserved in the past: people living in poverty and people of color among them. OJRC works to divest from policing and the criminal legal system as we currently understand them and invest in communities.

Bottom Line for Portland

We are committed to fighting white supremacy wherever it shows itself within the system. We marched for Black lives in the uprising of 2020 and we are committed to the long haul of ending mass incarceration, policing, and racism embedded in these systems as we know it. We are proud to be the only legal organization in Oregon directly representing people at all stages of the legal system at no cost to the client.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Confronting and dismantling white supremacy is central to our organization.  We actively work to identify and address the ways in which BIPOC Oregonians, women, youth, and marginalized groups in particular are impacted by mass incarceration and policing. OJRC is committed to upholding that Black Lives Matter and we will not stop until the carceral system frees BIPOC communities from its' racism and oppression.
