Mission

Our Just Future counters the forces that keep people and communities in poverty by building relationships and assets that create opportunity – today and for future generations. Here’s how:

• - We partner with people and communities impacted by poverty so they can achieve long-term housing and economic security.
• - We invest in affordable housing and community assets that contribute to strong, inclusive neighborhoods.
  • - We advocate with our community for policies and investments that expand housing and economic opportunity, eliminate wealth inequality, and end poverty.

East Portland/East Multnomah County, Oregon is our home and the heart of our investments, advocacy, and programs.

Our Vision is a vibrant city where all can share in the security, hopes, and advantages of a thriving, supportive environment. 

Bottom Line for Portland

The housing and homelessness crises in Portland continue to grow, which means the work we do to help folks get and stay housed is critically important. Early intervention and prevention are essential to help families avoid the trauma of homelessness. More 9,000 people participate in our programs or live in our affordable housing communities. We also work to prevent eviction by helping people pay their utility bills, and at least 80% of families we help move from homelessness into housing remain housed 12 months later!

WESHINE | Designs, builds, and operates neighborhood-based micro villages that provide safe, transitional shelter with wrap-around services for Portland’s underserved, unsheltered adults as they prepare to become successful tenants in permanent, affordable housing.

SNOWCAP COMMUNITY SERVICES | SnowCap Community Services is a philanthropic organization created to provide food, clothing, advocacy and other services to our neighbors in need.

OAKSHIRE BREWING | The name Oakshire embodies the strength of an Oak and the connection between people and place that is a Shire, an old name for a rural county. Pronounced "oak-shy-er," Oakshire Brewing exists to create and share great beer experiences. Founded in Eugene Oregon in 2006, we are privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders.

THE HEIGHTS | Founded in 2024, local musician Jermaine, The Heights is a Black-owned music venue and event space located in Portland, Oregon. With 3,700 square feet of versatile space and a 150-person capacity, we provide a welcoming home for live performances, private events, community gatherings, and more. We’re proud to be an all-ages venue where people of all backgrounds can connect, celebrate, and experience the power of music and culture.
