To inspire all people to love and protect birds, wildlife, and the natural environment upon which life depends.
Bottom Line for Portland
By making a gift to Portland Audubon, you will be safeguarding Oregon’s wildlife and wild places, restoring native plants, and advocating for dark skies to provide a secure migration through the Portland Metro region. You will provide more than 4,000 injured and orphaned birds and other wildlife a second chance at life. You will be supporting more than 5,000 youth and 3,000 adults expand their connection to the natural world by exploring our wild places, learning about natural history, and building community.
When I was younger, I didn’t have a strong connection to nature. Because of Portland Audubon, I now value all animals, from spiders to birds! I enjoy teaching this lesson to kids today who will be future advocates for wildlife. -Alaina Smith, 2018 TALON Intern
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The conservation movement has a long history of excluding, ignoring, and minimizing people of color in the fight for the environment. Portland Audubon recognizes that silence makes one complicit in systemic racism. That means we are committed to doing more to speak out against injustice within our own organization and beyond, to work with our Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) partners to do things differently, to center the voices of BIPOC people, and to create lasting, equitable change.
When you make a gift of $10 or more, you will receive 10% off your non-optics purchase at the Nature Store.
The Portland Audubon Nature Store is where you’ll find your nature-inspired books and merchandise, birdfeeders and food, and optics to bring you closer to the outdoors.
