Portland Street Art Alliance

OCT Qualified
BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

Advancing street art culture by empowering artists to activate the spaces where we live, work, and play.

Bottom Line for Portland

Since our founding, PSAA has helped create hundreds of murals and street art installations, collaborating with diverse artists and facilitating commissions resulting in over $1 million dollars paid to working artists. Street art is inherently democratic, providing access to artistic expression for the entire community. In everything we do, from murals to virtual learning sessions for students, PSAA aims to create strong visual, cultural, and economic impacts through public art.

Quote

“My experience with PSAA this past year has been positive, as it always is. It was through PSAA that I was able to paint my very first mural in Portland. Fast-forward to today, through the PSAA connection, I had the amazing opportunity to paint a mural in Providence Park. Landing this project with the Timbers has opened the floodgates of stellar promotion and inquiry into my skill set. PSAA has been a light for many artists at various stages of their art career. PSAA has always championed on behalf of working artists, and I am really grateful to benefit from the advocacy and hard work of PSAA.” - Kyra Watkins, Artist

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At PSAA, diversity, inclusion, and equity drive everything we do. Street art, by its nature, is an inclusive art form that celebrates, promotes, and reflects diverse cultures, heritages, and backgrounds. We strive to ensure that underrepresented artists get paid work opportunities and help facilitate the sharing of their stories, perspectives, and messages through bold public art projects.
