Mission

Project Lemonade inspires self-esteem to help local youth in foster care move from surviving to stability to thriving.

Bottom Line for Portland

Portland is a city that believes in community and uplifting each other.

Youth impacted by the child welfare system have been identified as some of the most under-resourced youth in our country. These youth deserve our attention, focus and support.

When asking our youth what a donation to Project Lemonade means they said:

“It means I'll have the winter clothes I need."

“It means my grandma will have more support to raise me."

“It means I had a safe place to turn to when I lost my housing, and people to help me navigate the situation.”

Quote

“I have been involved with Project Lemonade for 11 years now. They have been a part of my life since I was 14. They not only help you navigate the foster care system, but they also care about you as a person. Project Lemonade has become a family for me.”

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We center and amplify the voices of our youth.

Youth in the child welfare system have been impacted by childhood trauma, systemic poverty, racism, and chronic under-resourcing. Our focused work in the foster care community is helping to create more equitable, inclusive, accessible and just spaces.

We engage in active and ongoing internal equity work to strengthen our organization and best serve our youth.
